Wii Sports contains 5 different sports: Golf, Tennis, Bowling, Baseball and Boxing.
TENNIS - Play doubles or singles, on your own or in pairs (controlling both players on your side of the court if you are playing alone).
BASEBALL - Bat and pitch alternately. If you can score highly enough then the other team can invoke the "mercy rule" and surrender to your superior skill.
BOWLING - 10 rounds/ends try to score higher than the others. Multiple consecutive strikes give you little reward, and if you throw the ball backwards you can make everyone watching jump.
GOLF - Levels are beginner, intermediate, and professional and these are played as 3 hole games. You can also play a 9 hole game. Every shot is lined up for you so it is the strength of the shot that is the skill.
BOXING - The only game that requires the nunchuk. You thrust the wii remote and the nunchuk forward to punch the opposition. Rotating the wii remote allows you to move from side to side and to dodge.
Review
In your mind you know you're not covered in sensors and that the motion is controlled through the handsets, but this doesn't stop you going through all the motions like it's the real thing. When you bowl you crouch as you swing. Playing tennis you twist your torso to get some power in the ball. As you box you're jabbing like a pro. It may not be real exercise, but at least you're active and not sitting down twiddling your fingers and thumbs.
It's also good to play solo or with family/friends as it's incredibly intuitive and you don't need to know all the special button combinations. We've had everyone from kids to grandparents up.
All in all, great fun and I'd definitely recommend it!
