Hunting in Africa, Camping, Boating and more -- all written for young people to enjoy. Du Chaillu's experiences may have served as the inspiration for Edgar Rice Burroughs TARZAN novels -- but this has never been absolutely proven. However, Burroughs never did go to Africa and must have gleaned his information somewhere. du Chaillu spent time in Scandinavia and is credited with originating the phrase "Land of the Midnight Sun
