The second classic Minichamps model of a celebratory moment in F1 history when Mansell gave a lift to Senna at the end of the 1991 British Grand Prix. Part of the Ayrton Senna Racing Car Collection.
The 1991 F1 World Championship was an intense battle between the Williams driver, Nigel Mansell, and current World Champion, Ayrton Senna, in his McLaren. In the end Senna won the Championship primarily due to greater reliability as the FW14 was often the quickest car by some margin. The FW14 morphed into the active suspension FW14B a supreme car that carried Mansell to the 1992 Championship title.
In 1991 Britain was engulfed in Mansell-Mania and the faithful duly turned up at Silverstone savouring a Mansell victory after Nigel dominated the Grand Prix. The chasing Senna ran out of fuel on the last lap and Mansell - already basking the crowd's adulation stopped to taxi Senna back to the pits sending the crowd even more ballistic!
This model captures that moment brilliantly. A lovely model of not only Mansell's magnificent Williams FW14 but also of Senna clinging onto Nigel's airbox. The model of Senna has been upgraded with full Marlboro livery (not standard) and the FW14 sports full Camel livery too.
Minichamps only made two taxi models this one and Schumacher (Benneton) with Alesi. Both rare and collectible show-stoppers. I listed the Schumacher/Alesi model previously.
In perfect condition and supplied in the original box also excellent.
