Boards are solid and square, but worn, marked and rubbed, and an extension to the title has been written in pen under the original title on the spine. Internally,the  ex-libris label of a previous owner is attached to front paste-wdown, that also has various names and notes in pen. There is a pen marginal note on page 417, and a few pencil ones in the appendix. The pages are however crisp, with a little foxing / spotting, in places. Several loose newspaper clippings have been inserted between pages in the book, and some of these have left "shadows" on those pages.
