  A unique document commemorating the founding of the town, Winburg, on 4 March 1896 presented to the new president of the Orange Free State republic, President M.T. Steyn.  The book consists of a handwritten proclamation, a map of the town showing the different districts, photographs of properties relating to the President, and original signatures of all the voters of the district.  

There is a little water damage on the front cover, and the book's binding is loose and could do with a professional rebinding.

A unique piece of Boer history.
