You cannot use a windows 8.1 key to activate a Windows 10 clean install. Upgrade only. I am also selling a full Windows 10 Pro license should you require it. (For clean installs, upgrades from other operating systems or an older version of Windows)

IMPORTANT:
Windows licenses offer only ONE (1) activation per computer. You cannot use the same license on multiple computers. You should be able to format and reinstall windows and activate it with the same license provided your hardware has not changed. If you upgrade your computer parts (motherboard, hard drive etc.) You will probably need a new license. It depends on what parts you upgraded. I recommend trying with the existing key you have, as it might still work.

The installer from Microsoft will help you make a bootable Windows disc/USB Flash drive. You will then use this to install Windows and use the product key to activate it. Alternatively you can use the key to activate an existing installation.
