WINFUN SMART FUN DRIVER
The Smart Fun Driver is a colourful console with enough driving action to keep two and three-year-olds delighted for a long time. When switched on, with the built-in pretend ignition key, an authentic-ish ignition noise is followed by an exciting soundtrack of driving noises as the little screen at the top of the console displays a road winding down towards a car at the bottom edge. The driver then uses the steering wheel to try to keep the car on the road.
The gear stick gives the option of slow or fast speeds, for the more or less coordinated, or neutral, if the child just wishes to enjoy the numerous other features. There are headlights and blinking indicator lights, worked by a proper indicator lever; there's a horn, a wing mirror, a stout antenna, a cordless play phone (so essential for the modern child); there are six buttons which produce sounds--police car, ambulance, fire engine, dog, cat and duck (the last three woof, miaow and quack little songs). Perhaps best of all, for the parent, there's a volume control.

This toy promises long-lasting fun for two- and three-year olds, and appears robust enough to survive their enthusiasm. It would probably also amuse older children for short periods (not to mention this reviewer, vroom, vroom). It requires 3 AA batteries.
