Produced by Bickles of Johannesburg in 1966 in gold, silver and bronze. Reference: Commemorative Medals of South African Interest, by Anna Smith, No. 372 where it is recorded that the silver mintage was 750. Artists: A. Tromp (Churchill) and David MacGregor (Smuts).
Silver, so marked on the edge. Also stamped with a sequence number 032 on edge. Diameter 51.1 mm. Mass 68.3 gm (more than 2 oz). The medal is in excellent condition.
