A History of the English-Speaking Peoples

First Edition 1956 Volume 2

The New World Hardcover

Winston Churchill

Publisher : Cassell

note that this is a FIRST EDITION which is valuable and has collectable value.

All the volumes of "A History of the English-Speaking People" are outstanding. WInston Churchill provides an outstanding and gripping account of the time from the last days of Henry VII through the reign of Henry VIII, the reigns of Edward and "Bloody Mary," the Elizabethan age, followed by the reign of James I (James VI of Scotland), Charles I and the English civil war, the beheading of Charles and the interregnum, and, finally, the restoration under Charles II and the reign of James II. While others have told this story, Winston Churchill has done it extremely well. He is a great storyteller
