Comments: Issued by the Schweizerischer Bankverein (now know as UBS). Created by Münzen & Medaillen Motek Horowicz & Co. Commemorative medal to commemorate the anniversary of the death of the British statesman Winston Spencer Churchill, who died in London on January 24, 1965 in his 91st year. In addition to his work in several British government offices, he was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland twice in the terms of office from 1940 to 1945 and from 1951 to 1955. He also worked as an author of political and historical books and writings and received awards for his historical- biographical work and his "brilliant oratory" won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953.
