Hed Kandi: Winter Chill 06.02 is another highly stylized double-disc mix that runs through a bevy of smooth house tracks that have been hits within the club circuit. As with a lot of the Hed Kandi compilations, most of the material is either borderline or completely saccharine. Clubbers who already know a fair portion of the inclusions here will be happy to have those songs provided within the context of a mix. Abraham's "Magpie," Underworld's "Sola Sistim," dZihan & Kamien's "Thrill," Jakatta's "Feelin' Blue," and Slovo's "Whisper" are featured. And, thanks to Julee Cruise's downbeat take on "It's the End of the World as We Know It," we can finally understand what Michael Stipe was speed-speaking.
