Wolf Flame Safety Lamp
This flame safety lamp has seen many working shifts underground in the Usutu Colliery, South Africa.
It is in a perfect working condition, all components are operative and the Pyrex type glass is not cracked.
The lamp is unlocked (the magnetic locking mechanism has been disabled) and the lamp may be filled with light fuel oil and lit.
This lamp is in a very good condition.
This model lamp was was used extensively in the South African mining industry as the means of detecting methane gas underground. (More on how this works, see my other auction - Cambrian Flame Safety Lamp).

The Proto (Mine Rescue) Teams still take a lamp of this type underground in the event of an emergency. Not only can they determine if there is methane gas present, it is also can be used to determine oxygen deficiency.
This is not a replica or a toy.
Weight of lamp is 1,75 kilograms. The lamp is constructed of brass and stainless steel, as per the then GME approval.
