Die geskiedenis van die PUK is ook die geskiedenis van Ferdinand Postma. Sy invloed loop soos n goue draad deur die verhaal wat in hierdie boek vertel word, vanaf sy intrede as student in 1896 tot en met sy dood in November 1950, op die vooraand van selfstandigwording op 17 Maart 1951.
