DESCRIPTION: This is an intriguing VINTAGE WOODEN TRICK BOX, featuring a sophisticated "invisible" locking mechanism. The lid is beautifully decorated with intricate floral hand-carving. Unlike a standard box, the lid remains firmly locked until a secret panel at the bottom front is slid to the left, releasing an internal hook-latch. It has to be noted that the lid does not open easily, and you have to give it a firm lift with the bottom front panel kept in place and the thumb of your other hand pushing against the center of the lid while performing the lifting motion.

• MECHANISM: Secret sliding panel release with a concealed hook-and-screw latch.
