These beautiful pieces of fairly early Worcester came into my possession from the same source, and although the tazza is unmarked, the quality of the decoration would suggest they were both painted by the same ceramic artist. The plate has the Grainger Worcester factory mark - in use from the 1830’s-1860’s – underneath. The plate is in mint condition. The tazza has fine crazing all over, and two pinhead sized flea bites on the underside of the rim. As can be seen from the pictures, the moulded decoration to the outer extremities is gilded, with the gilding showing no sign of wear. The plate measures 26cm across at its widest; the tazza 23.5cm in diameter, standing 6.5cm tall. Apart from the flea bites mentioned, both pieces are free of cracks, chips and restoration, Please ad R48 for postage.
