A South African soldier who served in North Africa during the Second World War begged, borrowed, collected & swapped this huge collection with locals, fellow soldiers and prisoners of war.

Countries include Egypt, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, East Africa, West Africa, South Africa and also fellow commonwealth countries like England, India and Ceylon. Also included are Italian and German coins of the period (last mentioned depicting the Nazi Swastika)

What is interesting is that the coins span the period from late Victorian, through the WWI period to the end of the Second World War. A few extra coins were added later but the vast majority dates from the first half of the 1900s.

There are over three hundred coins in this giant hoard (some silver) so only bid if you are very patient and have lots of spare time to sort for treasures through this fascinating collection!

I'm disappointed in the quality of the coins. Not worth the money spend. I will never buy from this seller again.
