THIS ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS SHIP BUILDERS SIGN DATED 1901 IS MAGNIFICENT AND VERY VERY COLLECTIBLE!!! THESE SOLID BRASS SIGNS WOULD NORMALLY BE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE BUILDING. I CAN ONLY THINK THAT ARTUR DU RIETZ HAD HIS OFFICE IN GOTEBERG AND WANTED TO BUILD A SHIPYARD AROUND THE TURN OF THE CENTURY IN LANDSKRONA. HE EVENTUALLY GOT IT RIGHT IN 1915 WHEN THE SHIP YARD WAS "OFFICIALLY" SET UP... SWEDISH SHIPPING DATES BACK TO THE 1700's!!!

THIS BRASS SIGN IS EXTREMELY RARE AND WOULD LOOK GREAT AS PART OF A SIGNAGE COLLECTION, NAUTICAL COLLECTION OR AS A SHOW PIECE IN YOUR MAN-CAVE; EITHER WAY THIS SIGN IS A SUPERB DISPLAY PIECE ON A WALL!!! ONCE THIS SIGN IS SOLD IT'S GONE FOREVER SO GRAB IT WHILE CAN....

from the internet:- The shipyard was set up in 1915 on initiative by Artur Du Rietz, resident of Göteborg. Because of this the shipyard's headquarters were in Göteborg, a state of affairs that remained during the shipyard's lifetime. Because of the lack of suitable ground the shipyard chose to drain the shallow area next to the harbour.
