Deakin & Francis is a long-established firm of manufacturing jewellers and silversmiths. Founded by Benjamin Woolfield in 1786, then a partnership with Charles Washington Shirley Deakin and C.W.B Moore trading as Deakin and Moore from 1848 1879. Upon Moores retirement, Stephen Deakin joined his uncle Charles and the firm became Deakin and Nephew from 1879 to 1881. Charles Deakin retired in 1881 and Stephen was joined by his brother-in-law John H Francis becoming Deakin and Francis, this became a limited company in 1902. Deakin & Francis is today, seven generations later, still owned and managed by the Deakin family (James, Henry and David Deakin). In recent times the house speciality has become the manufacture of a large range of gentlemen's cuff-links.
