This is a heavy WW1 British 13 Pounder projectile with detachable fuze. The projectile was made in 1917, and fuze filled in 1918.
The projectile shell body is made from forged steel, and has been oil hardened and anealed. There is a copper driving band at the base of the projectile. The softer copper band was used to seal the projectile into the rifling of the barrel to prevent propellant gases from blowing past the shell. Markings on the body of the projectile are faint, but we could make out the following:
The fuze is a #80 time and purcussion fuze, with the timing system being a rotating disk, with a ring graduated from 0 to 22 seconds. The fuze unscrews from the body of the projectile, but can also unscrew into 5 separate components. This fuze has only been unscrewed into 2 parts. The fuze has some indents on the brass rings, as per the close-up photos, which means that the rings do not align perfecly when screwed together. Markings on the inside of the fuze are:
