Cap Badge remains in a Good State and piece has been utilised. Appropriate Signs of Wear evident due to handling. Insignia suspension slide is intact. Badge features are defined, however - a small degree of the insignia design may be indistinct/ ill-defined. This element can be attributed to properties associated with 'Sand-Cast' items. An EXCELLENT example of a WW1, British Army - Denbighshire Yeomanry Brass Cap Badge w/ Slide. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state of preservation, with detailed Graphic Design Relief on obverse. All insignia present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Badge surface will display areas of wear / scuff marks. A degree of toning/ variable discoloration may be evident due to handling/age. Design features are detailed - however , certain segments may remain ill-defined due to properties associated with 'sand-casting'. Insignia metallic slide / retainer is intact. All Regimental Emblems are present & legend remains legible.
This Insignia would have been worn by members of the Denbighshire Welsh Yeomanry, who were performing service during the Great War. The Regiment initially functioned as a Hussar Unit , before transition to Infantry. As a Battalion of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers - the formation served in both Palestine & The Western Front.
