WW1 Casualty Victory Medal to '2. LIEUT. W. THOMAS' (M.M)

 

This original, Great War, casualty Victory medal, was awarded to '2nd Lieutenant William Thomas' (M.M), who served with the 'Essex Regiment' and later with the 'East Lancashire Regiment', contracted influenza, and died of pneumonia on the 7th of November 1916 and is buried at the 'Caudry British Cemetery' near Cambrai in France. It appears, according to his medal card, he was awarded the 'Military Medal'. The medal is in great condition, complete with ribbon and is impressed on the rim '2. LIEUT. W. THOMAS'. It comes with some research that I came across on the net.
