German Colonial mounted infantry bandolier. This equipment originates from German South West Africa (today Namibia) and is typical of those worn by the German Colonial "Schutztruppen" during the Herero War in 1908 and South Africa's invasion of 1914/15.
The specific example listed here was taken from a Maritz Rebel after their surrender at Upington in 1915. The pen inscriptions explaining its origin has unfortunately faded over the years.
Please see photos for condition and note one shoulder strap is damaged as well as some stitches is coming loose. RARE item! FOR DISPLAY ONLY!
