This is a Grimwades "Bainsfather" Cup and Saucer commemorating The Great War (1914 - 1919)
Inscribed as follows: "Where did that one go to", "When the 'ell is it going to be strawberry", "Coiffure in the trenches, keep yer head still", "What time do they feed the sea-lions Alf".
Depicting scenes from the war, helmets, ration cans, water canteens, billy cans, blades of grass etc around the edges of the cup and saucer.
Gilding on cup and saucer shows very minor signs of wear.
No chips, cracks, crazing or other signs of wear - in great condition overall.
