An EXCELLENT example of WW1 Union Defence Force- South African Infantry Brass Unit Shoulder Titles. These pieces appear to be in a VF state of preservation , with detailed Graphic Design Relief on obverse and reverse. All insignia/ symbology present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surfaces. Items remain in a used , yet well-preserved state. Brass insignia retains a good lustre , with a degree of surface toning / variable discoloration due to metallic Alloy composition. Pieces display good structural integrity with Badge front panels & retention lugs, all well integrated. All Decorative elements are clear and defined with the distinctive Bi-Lingual Heraldic Scroll. Nomenclature is present and remains legible. All retention lugs appear securely mounted and are evident on insignia reverse.
