This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Graphic Relief on obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Surface finish is intact with small degree of age-related toning. Retention Lugs remain intact.
The Unit - known as the King's Own Scottish Borderers was formed as a Line Infantry Regiment of the British Army in 1689 - by 3rd Earl of Leven , David Leslie. The First War - saw the Regiment engaged at Galipoli , The Somme, Passchendaele , Lys & Cambrai.
The Borderers continued their service during the Second World War- as part of the B.E.F , evacuated at Dunkirk & participated in the 1944 D-Day Normandy Campaign, as well as , engagements in Burma and Mandate Palestine.
