A fine example of a WW2 Pattern 1907 sword bayonet by the Wilkinson Sword Company for use with the Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) rifle. The bayonet is in excellent antique condition with the locking button functional. It is accompanied by a Mangrovite leather scabbard and SA Union canvas frog.
Marks (left ricasso) : Crown and "G.R." (George Rex - King George) over "1907" (pattern model) over "WSC" (Wilkinson Sword Company) over "5" and "42" (manufacture date - May, 1942).
Marks (right ricasso) : War Office broad arrow and "X" (bend test stamp) with an Enfield inspection stamp.
Scabbard : Double-stitched leather rare Australian Mangrovite scabbard with steel top-mount and chape. Stamped "Mangrovite 42" (1942). The bayonet inserts and withdraws smoothly.
Frog : Canvas frog stamped with South African Union military broad arrow and manufacturer.

Length (blade) : 43 cm
