WW2 1944 40mm Mk4 British Bofors anti-aircraft shell, converted to N3 drill round, then converted to trench art
The original shell is from a British Bofors 40mm Mk4 anti-aircraft gun, made in 1944. It seems to have been converted to an N3 drill round, and is clearly overstamped. Thereafter, it was cut shorter and twisted into trench art.
Dimensions: 45mm diameter at top, 60mm diameter at base, 240mm high (original length 310mm).
