This French helmet was known as the Casque Adrian and was introduced during WW1. The WW11 model was made of improved steel; I cannot say which one it is. All French helmets bore arm-of-service badges, but on this helmet it is missing. It was the most common insignia and all so made a good target for German snipers. It has a raised ridge on top to help guard against blows from above. The inner lining is missing and the condition is poor. it has dents and scrapes, I feel sorry for the poor soldier that wore this helmet?
