The piece is in an GOOD, USED CONDITION - Steel Helmet Shell is present and detailed w/ Grommets. Item remains in a Good State and has been utilised. Signs of Wear evident due to handling. Original Liner Retention Band is present and intact. Leather Post-War Chin strap w/ Buckle is complete. All Manufacturers marks/ Stamps & Lot Numbers are visible and legible. ITEM NO LONGER RETAINS PAINT FINISH- BARE STEEL.

An EXCELLENT example of World War 2 ,  1940s German M40 Steel Helmet Shell w/ Liner Band & Leather Chinstrap assembly.  This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with all defining  features of the stamped ventilation grommets and rolled edge. Original Zinc Alloy Liner Band present w/ additional post-War Czech Leather Chinstrap.  Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Paint finish is no longer present. All manufacturers marks and Lot Number are present on inner flange. 

This piece represents the M40 Stahlhelm, as used by German Military & Paramilitary Forces during the Second World War. The item has been subject to usage in varied conditions and will display surface pitting/ and rust commensurate with age. Post-War , a large multitude of German Helmets were re-issued for use in  former Occupied Bohemia.
