A fine example of a British WW2 Pattern 1907 bayonet made in 1942 by the Wilkinson Sword Company.  The 435 mm single-edged blade has a long narrow fuller and rounded spine.  The blade is in near mint condition. The ricasso is marked with a "crown and GR" (Georgius Rex for King George V), the pattern date "1907" above "WSC" (Wilkinson Sword Company) and the date of manufacture "5 '42". The obverse ricasso bears a bend test stamp, war department arrow and an Enfield inspection stamp. The cross piece, muzzle ring and pommel are in excellent condition, the press catch is in perfect working order and the grip scales are in a good condition. The bayonet is complete with its waxed black leather scabbard with a teardrop frog stud suggesting that the scabbard was made utilizing refurbished World War One stocks of lockets and chapes. The stitching is intact and strong and the bayonet sheaths smoothly and is held firmly within the scabbard. Canvas frog is complete.

Length (bayonet) : 55 cm
