A very nice example of one of the escape maps from the series of 43 silk maps.
This example has Grid K1/K2 which includes Cyrenaica (Libya) from Benghazi to the West and  to East with Northern Egypt with the Nile River, Cairo and the Suez Canal and North to Crete and South to 28 degrees.
The reverse side K2/K1 covers Egypt and the Sahara Desert regions down to Niger and Chad. 
The Silk Map is part of the Militaria Collection of Lt Col AD Irvine who served in the Union Defence Force in North Africa and Europe during WW2 and for the South African Air Force.
Condition: Very Good, the silk map has been left untouched, as received, it is still legible and does not have any tears, some minor stains and creases, with stitched edges.
