An original and deeply moving First World War Memorial Plaque, commonly known as a Dead Mans Penny, issued in memory of:

Private John Harold Oxley Fenn

Service Number: 636020

Unit: 20th Battalion, London Regiment

Date of Death: 28 September 1918

Age at Death: 19

This solemn bronze medallion was presented to the next-of-kin of British and Commonwealth soldiers who died in service during WWI. Measuring approximately 120mm across, it bears the name John Harold Oxley Fenn in bold, raised lettering with no rank, as was custom, to emphasize the equality of all who fell.

Private Fenn lost his life just weeks before the end of the Great War, a stark reminder of the heavy cost paid by so many young men. He is commemorated with honour and remembered through this powerful piece of history.

🔹 Authentic WWI issue

🔹 Excellent patina with clear name detail

🔹 No cracks or repairs a well-preserved example

🔹 A unique piece of military and family heritage

💬 Ideal for collectors of military memorabilia, WWI historians, or as a respectful addition to a remembrance display.
