SS Grantley Hall, built by IrvineÂÂÂÂ's Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. Ltd., West Hartlepool in 1902 and owned at the time of her loss by West Hartlepool Steam Navigation Co. Ltd., was a British steamer of 4008 tons.
On December 23rd, 1917, Grantley Hall, on a voyage from Villaricos to Middlesbrough with a cargo of iron ore, was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-4 (Walter Schmitz), 5 miles east of Orfordness. There were no casualties.
Grantleyhall was a 4.008grt defensively-armed British merchantship. On the 23rd December 1917 when 5 miles East from Orfordness, Suffolk, UK she hit a mine and sank.
