WWII German Kriegsmarine 7x50 U-Boat Binoculars – Ernst Leitz (beh) – Matching Serial, Intact Rubber

This is an authentic, completely untouched piece of WWII naval history: a pair of Kriegsmarine (German Navy) 7x50 individual-focus binoculars. These optics were specifically engineered for the brutal environments of submarine conning towers and surface night watches. This pair has a wonderful "battlefield" patina and is highly collectible due to its functional mechanics and rare, surviving components. Manufacturer: Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar (Stamped with the secret wartime three-letter manufacturer code "beh")Serial Number: 453223 (Dates production to late 1943 or early 1944)Configuration: 7x magnification with 50mm objective lenses. Features the highly desirable Individual Focus mechanism rather than the fixed-focus design.Factory Alignment Marks: Clear, authentic factory collimation punch marks are present on both shoulder plates directly opposite each other. Both desiccator cartridge ports are intact.  Optics: The ocular (eyepiece) lenses are fairly clear. The front objective lenses have some typical internal dust/fine haze commensurate with an 80-year-old military instrument. Despite the internal dust, the view remains fairly clear and the optics focus with ease. Mechanics: Excellent. The individual diopter focus rings turn smoothly and are not frozen, a common failure point for sets from this era. Rubber Armour & Body: The textured Rauhlack (rough lacquer) grip finish is largely intact with honest handling wear. The original rubber armour shows typical age-cracking on the upper eyepiece accordion rings but remains structurally intact. Crucially, the large rubber objective lens protectors are completely intact, supple, and safely removable without crumbling. Accessories: Comes with the original leather neck strap. The strap is present but needs to be re-attached on one end. No carrying case is included.
