1939/45 Star/Pacific Star/War Medal 1939/45/Australia Service Medal - all to VX133273 F.N. Wilson

Wilson was a Captain in rank in the 157th Australian Supply Depot.

157 Supply Depot Platoon

The AASC (Australian Army Service Corps) units in Victoria were reorganized in May 1943, with the detachments of 13 Sup Pers Coy outside SRD Bandiana forming 22 Sup Dep Coy based at Ballarat, which included 155, 156, 157, 158 and 159 Sup Dep Pl.

By the end of 1943, troop numbers in Victoria had declined and in December many platoons were exchanged between companies. 157 Sup Dep Pl left for Caulfield to join 21 Sup Dep Coy but they re-joined 22 Sup Dep Coy at Watsonia in February 1944 to prepare for tropical service.

They left with Coy HQ in May, but were delayed in Yeerongpilly (QLD), reaching Madang (NG) in July to join 23 Sup Dep Coy. When 5 Inf Div moved to Jacquinot Bay to contain the Japanese at their base at Rabaul, 157 Sup Dep Pl joined 31 Sup Dep Coy at Jacquinot Bay in November 1944 and worked their until the end of the war.
