Ancient Origins
The story begins in 3600 BC, where En Sabah Nur, known as Apocalypse, rules ancient Egypt as the first and most powerful mutant. Facing the inevitability of death, he attempts a ritual to transfer his consciousness into a younger mutant to gain immortality. The ritual is sabotaged, his followers are killed, and he is entombed alive beneath a collapsing pyramid, with one loyal follower securing his new body in a protective casket to survive
