After going hand-to-hand combat in X-Men Mutant Academy,X-Men Mutant Wars (U) sees you out on the streets in an attempt to stop the evil Magneto.

Using Gambit, Iceman, Cyclops, Storm or Wolverine, you have to battle your way through nine levels of bad guys and an end-of-level bosses before the latest scheme to rule the world is defeated.

If this all sounds too much then perhaps the option of a fight mode might seem more appealing, with the ability to get stuck-in with the end-of-level bosses straightaway, although be warned, this can be quite difficult.

As you would expect, each character has their own special moves and once one is dead you have to option to carry on as another. If you are a fan of the film and comic strips then this is one way to bring that all to life, while being on the move at the same time. --Stuart Miles
