Xbox Series S with controller. Unknown overheating issue.
In the box:
Xbox Series S console
Xbox series controller
HDMI Cable
Power Cable
2x AA Batteries
Xbox is in decent cosmetic condition. It has unknown dark marks on the top case and controller. It is slightly unsightly but does not affect the functioning of the console or controller.
The Xbox experiences overheating issues and will switch itself off after 40 - 80 minutes of play. It cites poor ventilation as the reason for shutting off automatically.
The Xbox has been opened up twice to clean out dust. During the second time, the screw hole on the left back of the console broke. This means that the bottom section of the case is a little loose but is still held on by the second screw (the one on the right.)
The primary reason the Xbox was taken apart is because I was experiencing overheating issues. I did not separate the heatsink from the APU so the factory thermal paste should still be intact. Taking apart the console further (removing the heatsink and exposing the APU) is beyond my level of expertise.
Some background:
I bought this console secondhand on Bidorbuy and believe the original owner was experiencing the same problem but did not disclose it. I am hoping that I can pass it on to someone who knows how to these diagnose these issues and fix it for themselves. I am trying to cut my loses at this point.
TL,DR: Don't bid unless you're willing to fix overheating issues.
