ZAR Mine Claim Title Deed, Johannesburg, 1892, original hand-drawn manuscript map of the claim area, with six ZAR revenue stamps attached, surveyed & signed  by the ZAR Surveyor-General, G.R. von Wielligh, deed measures 47 cms x 32 cms, (with mount board, 62 cms x 46 cms), condition: very good.

The area covered by the deed now comprises Doornfontein, in Johannesburg, and also included water rights.

G.R. von Wielligh was a rand pioneer and surveyed the centre of Johannesburg. In 1883 he moved to the Transvaal and in 1884 he was appointed Surveyor-General of the South African Republic (ZAR) , a profession that enabled him to visit and travel through large parts of the country. When the Anglo-Boer War broke out, he was busy measuring the border between the Transvaal and Mozambique.

von Wielligh street  in johannesburg is named after him.
