Offered here is an original 1894 Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek 2½ Shillings, catalogued as KM#7, struck in 92.5% sterling silver during the presidency of Paul Kruger. These substantial silver coins remain among the most desirable and historic issues of South African numismatics.

The obverse features the portrait of President Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger, while the reverse displays the arms of the South African Republic with the national motto Eendragt Maakt Magt (Unity Makes Strength). This denomination was one of the premier circulating silver issues of the Boer Republic and today is highly sought after by collectors of African, Boer War, and world silver coinage.

The 1894 issue had a mintage of only 135012 pieces, adding to its collector appeal and scarcity compared with many later South African silver issues. A landmark coin from the era preceding the Anglo-Boer War and one of the key silver types of the ZAR series.

Condition VF

Circulated example with honest wear across both sides. Portrait, legends, and shield details remain visible. Surface marks, age toning, and handling wear consistent with circulation. A solid collector-grade example of a scarce historic silver coin.
