Zuid Holland Gouda vase 1950.
This lovely vase is a Gouda (pronounced ‘how-da’) style of Dutch pottery named after the city of Gouda. Gouda pottery gained worldwide prominence in the early 20th century and remains highly desirable to collectors today. This type of pottery is diverse and visually distinctive in appearance, typically illustrated with colourful and highly decorative designs.
This vase was made in 1950, Holland.
Labels used on this beautiful vase were used 1950 - 1964. Wording on the oval label are 'Royal Pottery Zuid-Holland'. The famous PZH logo, to this day still commonly known as the 'little house' or 'house' and often referred to as thus.
This gorgeous vase had gone through the Rhodian process which is known to matte glaze pottery.
The flowery and curvaceous designs, the use of bright colours and the mixture of floral designs all on the same piece combine absolutely marvellously.
