215mm x 130mm hardcover. An original pamphlet, printed and published by Horne Bros. Maritzburg, overbound in marbled paper over boards, worn and marked quarter leather with gilt spine titling "Zululand Finney 1880". Endpapers tanned and foxed, and sporadic foxing throughout. The pamphlet itself is fragile, with a tape repaired tear on the front, and all pages are discoloured but legible, with the odd pencil note. Chapters of the first lecture are: 1) The Umtetwas 2) The Lion of the Zulu Nation 3) Tyaka's Foreign Exploits 4) Dingaan and the Dutch 5) Umpande the Peaceful 6) Cetckwayo in Power 7) The Mighty Fallen. This section comprises 34 numbered pages and is followed by the index. Thereafter follows the second lecture.
