Antique 'Christopher Dresser' Style Tea Kettle on Stand
This fine quality, early 1900's, silver-plated spirit kettle on stand has a wonderful design and shape with an unusual handle and spout, very similar to the work of 'Christopher Dresser' (1834-1904) a very well-known British designer. The tea kettle and stand are in excellent condition with no loss to the plating, and it comes with its original functioning burner, complete with wick. It is stamped on the base 'EPNS' with a 'three-star shamrock' in-between. This trademark was used by one of the oldest silversmiths originating out of Birmingham, the 'Barker Brothers', which was established in 1801. The measurements are, the tea kettle: spout to rear 22,5cm, height to finial 10cm, height to handle 16,5cm, its diameter 17,5cm, and the stands height is 11cm, with a combined height of 27cm and combined weight of 1,35kg.
