A lovely book for young music lovers.
Barbie is a young Austrian violin prodigy who comes to live with her cousins Laurel and Simon in England when her mother enters a sanatorium and her father's on a conducting tour. Laurel narrates the story of Barbie's adjustment to life in a rectory in a quiet village, and her unhappiness at not having proper lessons. Her great ambition is to become a pupil of a famous Italian violist.
