Charming Antique Silver Vinaigrette (1840)
This lovely, early Victorian, fine silver vinaigrette is in wonderful condition, with its original gilding to the interior and nice clear hallmarks. It's rectangular in shape with a soft engine-turned engraving on both sides and a small shield shaped cartouche on the lid. The grill has a pretty, floral engraved and pierced pattern. The vinaigrette was made in Birmingham, England in 1840 by silversmiths 'Edward Smith' (ES). It's in great condition, with very minor wear, good hinges and it closes securely. It measures 28mm x 18mm x 7mm.
