A well-informed, formerly enthusiastic soldier relates how he and his fellow army volunteers became disillusioned and disgusted with just about every aspect of World War I and the British establishment which masterminded it. Generals, politicians, newspapers and the Church, non are spared.

Originally published 1922 with a 5th printing in 1924. First issued by Phoenix Library in 1929. This is the Chatto and Windus reprint of 1929. Condition: Good. Brown stains on first and last flyleaves caused by jacket fold-over. Inside otherwise very good. Jacket a bit dirty and worn at edges.
