NEVER AGAIN AT THIS PRICE
The Ferrari 512M, which debuted late in 1970, was a development of the 512S model, which during the season had shown little reliability, especially towards the Porsche 917. With the Ferrari now concentrated on the 3-liter 312PB, the 512M was entrusted for 1971 to private teams: Penske, Loos, Escuderia Montjuich, NART, Ecurie Francorchamps and so on. The car performed quite well during the year but still showed reliability issues. The change in the regulations in force since 1972 prevented the teams from entering the 512Ms again in the world championship races. In the following years some cars appeared in a very modified form in the Can-Am championship.
