Priced at "two guineas, postage 1s. 8d. extra"; in current value this would equate to more than one thousand South African rands.
The red cloth-boards are rubbed at the corners. The endpapers show some fish moth damage The gilt on the cover is still bright and clear. The illustrated text includes advertisements and is printed on heavy art paper. The copy is unmarked and clean.
