Collectable 1936-1950 Streamline Soda Siphon Chrome With Red Bands
The soda siphon (sometimes spelled syphon), also known as the seltzer bottle, siphon seltzer bottle, or just siphon is a device for storing and dispensing carbonated beverages (typically carbonated water) while maintaining the internal pressure, thereby preventing it from going flat. The carbonated beverage is dispensed using the internal pressure of the bottle, so the setup is not a true siphon in its operation.
The first metal syphons were made by Sparklets Corporation in the USA. The item is a 1936 1950 Streamline Soda Siphon. These siphons had 3 coloured bands, and were either finished in chromium plate or coloured enamel. They are recognisable by the plastic cover on the sparklets inlet and by the chain attaching it to the syphon head.
STAMPS OR MARKS: This particular siphon has no visible markings.
CONDITION: The siphon comes without the inlet cap and chain, as well as without the tube and washer. It does however come with the original charger holder. The body has age related wear and a few surface scratches, which require polishing.
