Natal 1906 Rebellion Medal 'SGT. H.B. Wallace' (Zululand MTD Rifles) (Interesting History)
This original, full size 'Natal Bambatha Rebellion' medal with bar, was issued to 'SGT. H.B. Wallace' (Horace Blake) of the 'Zululand Mounted Rifles' of which there were only 156 recipients. Mr. Wallace went on to become Magistrate and Native Commissioner of Ixopo and there's a brief history of his early career in the book 'NATAL WHO'S WHO', and I've also managed to find a picture of his gravestone (11/1/1881 - 11/8/1941), where he's buried with his wife 'Kathleen' (I've included copies of mentioned research below). This medal has been confirmed on the roll and could do with further research, it is in great condition, nicely tarnished with its original ribbon.
